Re: Installation C_S v4.0
Hello Yvan,
You see in the attached file the file "setup".
Just some explainations :
- I downloaded some librairies before to run the code to be sure to have all the libairies "-dev"
so, I put in the column "use" auto and "no" for the column install.
- I have already install salome (Version 7_5_1) from Salome website, so I should modify the setup file for salome by : yes ? When I do that, the shell said : "the directory file is not present" I must put the directory Salome in the directory ? or specify a path ?
Thanks for you help,
Claude

Re: Installation C_S v4.0
Hello,
I'll try to reproduce this and fix it, but you can probably work around the issue by not setting parmetis to auto in the setup file (either set yes with path, or no).

Yvan

Re: Installation C_S v4.0
Hello Yvan,
I have modified the setup file, after some tests, I put "no" for Metis and Scotch.
I think that's Ok. I must again do the "post-installation"...
I checked the file ".log", I didn't see any "Error" but I'm surprised, because there is about 480 pages...
Thanks

Claude

Re: Installation C_S v4.0
Hello Yvan, it's again me ...
I have just finished the post-installation, but it's clear that Code_Saturne is not installed,
How, can I know what is wrong ?
I would like to know, if there is normal, if I have 4 main directories ?
- N°1 : With the files "setup" and file "install_saturne.log"
- N°2 : the directory with the code and the files "code_saturne.cfg" and "code_saturne.cfg.template"
- N°3 : the directory with the code, created automatically (without files ".cfg")
- N°4 : The installation directory create during the re-run specified in the setup file.
I have to modify the path in the setup file for the installation directory ?
Thanks
Regards
Claude

Re: Installation C_S v4.0
Hello,
I know the code is installed ("Thank you for choosing Code Saturne" after that I have re-run the setup file for the automatic installation),
moreover the file "code_saturne.py" was created in the install directory.
Now, the post-install is necessary.
I copied the file code_saturne.cfg.template and I know, I must modify and uncomment (by removing "#" ?) the file "code_saturne.cfg".
In the section [install], it's suggested to select batch system ? But, I don't know exactly what is a Batch system ? Moreover there are many batch (PBS, CCC, SGE...), so how know which I have to choose ?
Thanks for your help,
Regards

Re: Installation C_S v4.0
Hello,
If you are running on a cluster, you probably have a batch system, and your admins (or the cluster documentation) should tell you which.
If you are on a workstation, you almost certainly do not have batch system, so you can leave that section empty.
The post-install is only necessary for non-default settings, or to tell the code where to find Syrthes or Code_Aster (fro couplings), so in general, you can leave most sections commented/empty.
Regards,
Yvan
