Heat Flux

Post by Alec »

Hello !

I am studying the code (v3.0) on a validation test case. It's a natural convection due to a heated cube in a large room. However, when I define a heat flux on the cube (positive value), the part which is located between the floor and the cube gets colder to -163°C when it should be around 28 !

I do not get such problems with other BC condition (fixed temperature, exchange coefficient, etc).

I tried several meshes, hex, tet with BL, etc...

Is it a bug or shoud the mesh be very refined or something else ?

Best regards,

Hello,

I believe that the heat flux you define is the outgoing flux, by Code_Saturne's conventions.

Did you try inverting the sign ?

Thank you very much, it is now working properly.

It's my fault I was too sure about my interpretation of the conventions.
