there is no checkpoint directory....

Post by yany »

Hello everyone,

There is no checkpoint directory in /RESU after 500+ time steps, so I cannot restart the calculation.... Could you please give some suggestions about that?
Thanks a lot.

All the best, Yany.

Hello,

Did you set the restart points every 500 iterations?? or are you using the default configuration?.

If you are using the default configuration, CS set 4 restart points for the entire simulation, so if you are running for example 5000 time steps or iterations, the first restart point will appear at the iteration 1000.

Hello Luciano,

Yes, That's true. I used the configuration and the I was running 10000 time steps, so I didn't got a checkpoint folder. Thank you so much.

And I have one more question. I used turbomachinary module on vertical axis turbine on Archer. When I used RANS, everything is OK. However, when I used LES, the calculation was stopped at the first time step. Could you please give some suggestions about that? Thank you.

All the best, Yany.

Hello,

Post your listing/error files in order to know why the code stop.

Hi Lociano,

I attached the listing file and preprocessor log. There is no error file output when the calculation stopped.

Thank you so much.

I also attached the performance log and the submit script on archer achieved at the end of calculation.

Thank you.

Hello,

Did you use the same mesh in both simulations? Because in the listing file no faces were joined. You are using the criteria "INTERNAL" and this criteria only have interior faces and no boundary facea to be joined. You have another selector which is "INTERFACE" with boundary faces.

Hello Luciano,
Thanks for your reply. I used same mesh and setup in both simulations. INTERFACE is the joined face of rotor and stator. As the mesh of the rotor in my case has two parts. The INTERNAL is the joined face of the two parts, which is interior face actually.

Hello,

OK...additionally you are using the mesh input from a previous case, may be you can try to delete the joining process in this run because is not needed. In the submit log you get this info "A pointer passed to DEALLOCATE points to an object that cannot be deallocated"

If you want..upload the mesh and the xml file in order to try to un it.

Hello,

I have improved the mesh, but the problem still exist. I uploaded the mesh and xml file... If you have time, could you please have a look at it? thank you very much.
