Hi Yvan,
I have a problem on Saturne, which I hope you can enlighten me on this. I have a configuration consisting of three domains. The first area is represented by the moving air. The second area is represented by the water which is stagnant. The last area is represented by a solid medium. To couple the solid medium with the fluid medium (air) I have to invoke the code syrthes. But, between the flowing fluid (air) and the fluid at rest (water), both are fluids, how do I proceed. By the way, which version of syrthes is better. Thank you.
Regards,
Hakim.

Re: code saturne with syrthes
Hello,
For a fluid completely at rest, using Syrthes with the fluid's thermal properties might be possible. Otherwise, You may use Code_Saturne for it (you may deactivate convection for some variables using advanced options if required).
In any case, the simplest setups will be obtained when Code_Saturne domains are coupled only with Syrthes domains (so for example having a solid between 2 fluids is fine, but having the fluids in direct contact make for significantly more compex setups).
Syrthes 4.0 is a big improvement over Syrthes 3.4, but to coupl it with code_Saturne, you will need Code_Saturne 3.0 (also a big improvement over 2.0, though not quite as mature yet).

Yvan

Hello,
You may have different prerequisites installed on both machines.
You need to post the usual files (config.log, ...) at least for the laptop.
Also, did you use the automatic or manual install ?

Yvan

Hello,
I did not notice any errors. What happens exactly when you try to run the code on the laptop ?
What command did you try ("code_saturne invo", "code_saturne create", ... ?).
What OS do you have on the laptop compared to the workstation ?
Regards,
Yvan

Re: code saturne with syrthes
Hello,
after installion, I run code saturne, a message appears on the console: They are no saturne installed you can install it by typing sudo apt-get install-code-saturne-bin. i get that by typing "code_saturne create..."
i have the same operating system( ubuntu 12.04, 64 bits) on both machine.
may be they are some troubles with the server saturne(EDF). Because on the worstation i made the installation almost a month ago.

Hakim.
