Hi there,
i have the last time following error-message on starting syrthes.
(SyrthesMain:6724): Gtk-CRITICAL **: IA__gtk_widget_style_get: assertion `GTK_IS_WIDGET (widget)' failed
I can’t anything find to this problem in the internet. I also try a reinstallation and a installation on a new ubuntu 12.04 and 12.1 on several machines (single core, quad-core, six-core)…..same problem.
But different Number in the messages (SyrthesMain:XXXX):
i find a solution on LinuxMint 14, which also works the coupling with code_saturne 2.2.3.
Anybody here, who know a solution for ubuntu?
Best regards,
Michael

Re: Syrthes 4.0.1 running problem
Hello,
Did you source the syrthes_profile file ? Also, contrary to Code_Saturne, Syrthes is distributed with precompiled (binary) versions of Qt, so there might be an issue if the wrong version is used.
I do not reproduce your error on my own Ubuntu 12.11 machine (and did not encounter it on 12.04). I do have PyQt installed (and usually run under the KDE desktop environment), which may make a difference.
Regards,
Yvan

Hello,
In SYRTHES's source tree, in src/syrthes-gui, you may try the build_Python_for_SYRTHES_ihm.sh script (read the README.txt first).
YMMV, but there's no risk in trying.
