coriolis source term on turbomachinery module

Post by yany »

Hello Everyone,

I'm working on the wind turbine using turbomachinery module.
http://code-saturne.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=2170

But the result of torque and power are unreasonable. As the calculation is based on relative frame, I'm wondering if I need to add the coriolis source term on the volume conditions? What's more, I have two zones, rotational one and stationary one. Can I only add the coriolis source term the the rotor? Many thanks.

All the best, Yany.

Hello,

How is the computation based on a relative frame ? Are you using the old coupled frozen rotor model ? If not, you should not be in a relative frame (though you can do conversions for postprocessing).

Did you try computing the torque based on outputs of the forces in an external tool (such as ParaView), to compare with the "built-in" output ?

You still did not indicate how "unreasonable" your values are, or provide any information about your computation, so all bets are off as to the cause of this issue.

Hello yvan,
I'm using the full transition simulation module and I have got the outputs of force. I attached the result of normal stress on the wall surface. But it looks so strange. could you please give me some advice about that? Thank you so much.

All the best, Yany.
