Errors of CS 4.0.1 when compiled on ARCHER
Hello, everyone. I was trying to compile CS in my own directory again due to the recent library update on ARCHER. I exactly followed the summary of the configuration options and full compile instructions at http://www.archer.ac.uk/documentation/software/codesaturne/compiling_403_phase2.php for refer...

Re: Code_Saturne not running on ARCHER
Hi, sorry for the late reply. I tested the case with own-built 4.0.4 again, and it looks fine except the max yplus every step is slightly smaller than the results from own-built 4.0.1, but the simulation is running without diverging problem. The 4.0.3 I mentioned previously is the ARCHER central bui...

Re: Code_Saturne not running on ARCHER
I just tried with a same restart case (from 4.0.1) with CS 4.0.1 and 4.0.4 respectively.
The consistent 4.0.1 gives me normal solutions, but 4.0.4 gives obvious fluctuations on yplus, which is exactly same with the divergence last time on 4.0.3.
Just for your information.
Regards,
Sean

Re: Code_Saturne not running on ARCHER
Thanks for getting back to me, Yvan. The thing is I need to run my restart files so I can finish the previous simulation. I tried to run the my 4.0.1 checkpoints with ARCHER central built CS 4.0.3 but the simulation diverged. I do not know if this is due to the version difference, but I was running ...

Code_Saturne not running on ARCHER
Hello, guys. The recent module changes on ARCHER caused my CS 4.0.1 errors as follows: "Rank 0 [Tue Mar 15 10:46:07 2016] [c0-0c2s10n3] Fatal error in PMPI_Alltoallv: Other MPI error, error stack: PMPI_Alltoallv(557)............: MPI_Alltoallv(sbuf=0x1396f00, scnts=0xf420e8, sdispls=0x1397080, ...

Re: Monitoring probe question
Thanks for getting back to me, Yvan. I think you may have found the problem. The code is running fine without my subroutines, in particular, when I disabled the wall shear stress subroutines. Now the code is running fine. I will update this post if I encounter further questions. I appreciate your su...

Re: Monitoring probe question
Yes, just subroutines for wall shear stress and spanwise efforts calculations. Please see attached. Any suggestions for the probe positions or I have to try them out one by one? It seems that some positions are fine, some are not. Hello, According to the backtrace, the error occurs during the parall...

Re: Monitoring probe question
Hi, the version is 4.0.1. The case is too large but I am happy to post files such as listing or *.log or error. please let me know which file do you need. Hello, No, this might be a bug. Which version are you using ? Is your case small enough and non-confidential so that you can post it here ? Regar...

Monitoring probe question
Hello, I was trying to put some monitoring probes in my fluid field. But it looks like the probe position has to avoid some specific positions in the flow field, e.g., in my case, if I set a probe position as "<probe name="1" status="on"> <probe_x>2.00</probe_x> <probe_y>0.0...

Re: Mesh imported ERROR: Mesh generated by pointwise
Hello, The least-squares gradient quality might not be so bad if only 1% of cells are "bad", but I recommend visualizing the mesh quality to see where cells are bad: it may be due to the joining, but also to other factors, such as warping. The number of iterations for pressure seems prett...
