Numerical parameters.

Post by Chebli Rezki »

Hello,

I'm trying to launch steady calculation with 300 iterations to obtain the flow around a foil.

I have a simple question about numerical parameters.

Please, which is the difference between "Number of iteration" and
"Maximum iteration number" and how to do to display the residues evolution during
calculation or from "listing" file.

listing file is attached.

Best regards.

Hello Rezki,

I don't really understand which "number of iteration" you refer to. This could be related to linear solvers, time-step, RHS calculation sweeps, gradient calculation sweeps, ... Can you elaborate this point ?

Regarding the residuals, we don't have proper residuals handling in Code_Saturne yet. You can have a look at the "derive" (for advected variables, search for related posts in the forum) or compute your own residuals in usproj.f90

Hi David

Thank you for your help.

I try to explain to you my question.

In the "Numerical parameters" menu. The "Number of iterations" in
"Time step" option, does it correspond to the time step iterations ?
If the answer is YES, then why the "Number of iterations" appears for steady flow calculation in " Steady flow management " option.

Best regards.
