online feedback

Hello all,

I would like to model a system with feedback. Let's consider a hydrofoil in a uniform flow and let's suppose that its angle of attack alpha(t) and heave h(t) can be controlled.

I would like to design an online controller so that the hydrofoil lift L(t) follows a reference lift L_r(t) given that here may delay in the controller.

Therefore I would need to
  • 1- compute the lift produced by the foil online
    2- apply a control law ([L(t)], t) --> (alpha(t), h(t)) online.
I have read the "flow around a cylinder" but what I would like to do is slightly different. Would you know how to handle this problem with code saturne and what are the modules/subroutines concerned?

Thanks for your help!

Gabriel

Hello M Bousquet,
What you want to do request a free surface model. We are working on it actually for future version of Code_Saturne. But for the moment, it won't be possible to do easily
this kind of study. You can build you own model but it will request a really heavy investment.
Best regards
