Hello,
I am currently initiating an evaluation of open-source CFD codes for hydrodynamics application.
Do you think that code_saturne is well adapted for these applications ?
Is there a VOF solver available in code_saturne ? I looked at the v2.0 beta but it seems to me that the vof functionality is not available.
Is there a way to have it or is it some EDF-private functionalities ?
Thanks,
LB

Re: multiphase modeling with code_saturne
Hello,
no, there is no VOF solver available in Code_Saturne right now (and, apart from unstable current developments, everything in Code_Saturne is in the open-source released version).
We did some tests on a very early version of the code, some ten years ago, but didn't keep it. I know that some other partners have recently expressed interest in VOF modelling, but I don't think any real developments or tests have started.
There are also tests on the modelling of a free surface by ALE method, but only for certain specific cases.
