Guys,
we want to simulate the phenomina of pulverized limestone decomposition in pulverized coal burned furnace with Code_Saturne.
The experts from EDF give some hints for it.
thanks

Re: how to setup the coal combustion and limestone decompostion for quenching simulation
Hi Leo,
to perform such a simulation, you should first calculate the flow field without taking into account the limestone injection and then make a restart calculation with limestone particle tracking on the converged steady state already obtained. To do so you have to choose frozen sate (at least temperature and velocities) for the restart calculation. I think we can safely assume that the limestone particles will not disturb the main flowfield.
You can then get some statistics like residence time, temperature history for the limestone particles. If you want to take into account chemical reactions of the limestone with sulfur, I guess you have to write your own fortran source in the Lagrangian library.
Hope this will help,
Sandro
