Validation of the Smagorinsky model for flow in a channel

Hello, I were wondering if any of you have validated the model of Smagorinsky and dynamic Smagorinsky for periodic isothermal flow in the channel? If yes, what are the initial conditions? Precisely, the profile of the velocity field at t = 0. Best regards.
