Hello,

I am simulating some unsteady flow through annulus. Because I am not sure of the velocity profile at the inlet (I just know desirable Reynolds numbers) and I want to create turbulent flow, I am planing to do the following procedure. Firstly, I define some random velocity profile and then after some time I send the velocity profile from some later slice z = z0 to the inlet.

Could someone guide with some basic ideas how to do that (which subroutines to modify and general idea how). If this is explained somewhere in the documentation, I apologize, but I did not find it.

Hello,

You can probably use the "mapped inlet" feature for this. It is even available In the graphical interface (look for the checkbox of that name in inlet boundary condition definitions. There is also a Fortran user example, but I recommend the GUI when possible.
