Output control > Profiles

Hello,

In order to obtain a pressure profile on a plate, I created in CS 5.0.1 (in the GUI) a profile based on a line defined by x=z=0 and y=0.21*(s-0.5). I choose 1000 as a number of points.

I got a profile (.csv) based on the right line between the right end points. Nevertheless, there were only 202 points in the csv file.

I repeated that operation with other numbers of points, I always got fewer points than expected.

I simply don't know how to get the right number of points. Any suggestion?

Best regards,

Hello,

How refined is your mesh ? If several points lie in the same cell, only one is kept (as there is no point in having redundant information), so the true profile can be coarser than the required one if your mesh is not fine enough.

Thank you for your answer,

My mesh has 172 cells along the line so I couldn't get 1000 points.

Another problem bears mentioning. The line was drawn on the border between two rows of cells. Therefore the software had to choose among two cells to generate the profile and I got 202 points.

I corrected my mesh so that the line runs through the cell centers. I now get 172 points.
