Dear All,

I am new in Code_Saturne 4.0.5 using Windows 8.1.
Just tried a tutorial by University of Manchester on Unsteady flow of stratified junction.
However, I cannot follow its steps on visualise the temperature contours in every seconds in ParaView. Did I wrongly done the steps in Code_Saturne? as the version used was older version.

Thanks!
Kenneth

Hi,

stuck at post-processing part. In ParaView, I cannot visualise the temperature contour in each time step.
Is there anything to do with the little-endian and big-endian file?
What is the little endian means as selected by tutorial as in ParaView version 3.2.1 ?
I am using ParaView 4.8 on Windows 8.1.

Thanks.

Hello,

The big-endian or little-endian aspect should be automatic, but in doubt, you can try both variants.

I tested you case, and it seems ParaView has issues reading files containing whitespace or accents n their paths (not recommended for Code_Saturne either, though it should usually work).

Yvan

Hi,

What do you means by this: whitespace or accents n their paths ?

How should I try to manually change the settings for big-endian or little-endian?

Thanks much.
Kenneth

Hi,

I think i got your means on the path.
So I have used a shorter and better name for the path.
However, it seems that the problem persists? I simply cannot view the temperature contours in each time step.

Thanks,
Kenneth

Hello Kenneth,

Going to your first post, you have mention that you can not visualise the temperature contours in every second in ParaView. Checking the listing file and the xml you have set the postprocessing output "at the end of calculation", wherewith you will have only one output....at the end. Also, in the postprocessing directory you have only one file for each variable.

So, I think that you have to change the output frequency in the postprocessing writer.

Luciano

Hi,

Yvan, I attached my study file again, with a shorter path, but same problem.

Luciano Garelli, I think I have already set the output of every time steps to the listings?

thanks much,
Kenneth

Hello Kenneth,

In the listing file the output is setted at the end of the calculation and I can find where it is defined the saving frequency that you mention.

Also in the Result.case the time value it is 122.44, which correspond to your last time step. In the case of the monitoring probes they are saved every time step.
