Dear CS users,
I am currently working on a vertical axis wind turbine with a farfield, stator and rotor domain using CS 3.3.2 on a OpenSuse 13.1.
The simulation approach is quasi 3D using as computational domain only a small slice in the spanwise direction of the wind turbine.
I am currently facing a non matching interface joining problem at the stator/rotor interface in the CS_TURBOMACHINERY_TRANSIENT mode.
I have a proper solution using the CS_TURBOMACHINERY_FROZEN mode and the face joing algorithm only fails in transient mode. I tried a lot of times to change the face joining parameters but did not succeed.
I attached the main output files. Could you have a look on it?
Thank you for your help and best regards
G

Re: Vertical Axis Wind Turbine, face joining problem
Hello,
The files you uploaded seem to be from a case which "works". If your mesh "barely" passes joining, it is not so surprising that you have issues only in transient mode, where you do a new joining at each time step (so much more opportunities for failure, and possibly less "aligned" mesh positions).
With no view or copy of your mesh or postprocessing output, I can only guess at the issues.
Regards,
Yvan
