flow in catalytic converter?

Hi there

I'm new to CS, trying to simulate flow in a catalytic converter like the one attached:

Meshing: Salome 2013.1
Solver: Saturne GUI 3.0.0
Post: ParaView in Salome

When analyzing a single domain (the inlet or outlet alone) => everythings fine!

When analyzing multiple connected domains (inlet + substrate + outlet) => PROBLEM!!

I can only see results (eg. stream lines) in one domain - not all three?!

Does anyone know a step by step tutorial/ example showing the solution of a similar problem?

Ex.: single phase gas entering through a free flow region through to a porous region with directional loss, and exit again through a free flow region?

Hello,

It is possible to do a multiple flow domain in Code_Saturne including a porous media zone as we have done it numerous times recently. However, I'm not sure that there is a tutorial on this website that shows how to set up such a model. I'll speak with the other support engineers to find out what information there is and let you know.

Brian Angel.

Hello,

Please find attached an hdf and a xml file which shows how to set up a multi flow domain calculation in SALOME and Code_Saturne. Please go through the two files and the set up thoroughly and if you have any questions afterwards please let me know.

Brian Angel.

Thanks Brian!!

Your help is very much appreciated!

It seems my problem was with the stitching of the two meshes.

Thanks again
