Radiation model in saturne 3.0 coupled with syrthes 4.1

Hi Yvan,

I'd like to use the radiation model in saturne 3.0 in combination with the fluid-solid interface of coupling to syrthes 4.1. All available boundary conditons for the radiation models in saturne doesn't seem to fit to the coupling mode of syrthes. I asked this question once - maybe you remember . At that time it was not possible to use both codes with the radiation calculation managed by saturne. I tried it now with the latest versions but it still seems not to work. Is there something that I missed in the user subroutines, such as usray2.f90? I also could imagine to set the wall temperature from syrthes to internal temperature value in usray2. Do you have else any ideas or is the only way out to use the radiation model provided by syrthes?
Thank you in advance.
Best regards

Hello,

As the radiative model of Code_Saturne is semi-transparent, and that of SYRTHES is transparent, I assume the choice of which you use is dictated by the physical problem you are simulating.

I remember discussing the issue you mentioned with colleagues a year (or more) ago, and I believe somebody had started looking at this, but other developments or validations may have taken priority, and I have not heard from this since. I'll try to check on this issue shortly.

Regards,

Yvan

Hello Yvan,

I now about the different physical meanings of the radiation models in both codes. In my case the radiation model deliverd by syrthes can be used, but the real problem is better described by the DO-radiation model. In fact some things would be easier to organize if I was able use it. Thank you for the fast reply.
