V2 - f- DDES model

Post by ashrafh »

I will be very grateful if you have a complete simple case that use V2 - f- DDES model using code-Saturne version 2.0.1 or later, in order to understand the model and know its limitations.

Hello,

There have been several iterations of the V2-f model in Code_Saturne, so there may be changes between versions 2.0 and 2.3. I'm not even sure what is the most up-to-date theoretical reference for this (though there will be many documentation updates this fall as we prepare for version 3.0), but I'll check with colleagues for a "recommended" test case when I get back on Thursday (tomorrow is a holiday in France).

Thank you Yvan, but I am asking about hybrid RANS/LES in the form of DDES in which the RANS turbulence model is V2-f. Thank you again

Hello,

I am not sure any calculation of this sort has been done, but I am not a turbulence specialists. One of our PhD students is working on RANS/LES with overlap (http://code-saturne.org/cms/content/Mod ... hargements), but I was not able to check with him yet whether he has any calculation of this sort.

Ill'try to check with our other turbulence specialists, and I do not know if you had any luck on the University of Manchester's Code_Saturne twiki, but I won't be in office most of next week, so I'll just try to suggest tou some turbulence specialists to answer (they dont' check the forum very often).

Regards,

Yvan
