Thanks for the feedback. If you have more info on the alignment issue, I am interested: there are places (performance-critical code for linear solvers and such) where we take precautions for alignment for performance reasons, but it would seem here we may have a different machine configuration from yours, and any feedback on where we need to improve is interesting.

of course! We know also that we don't need the environment variable on BG/P to run the tutorial example for the STRATIFIED JUNCTION but I have not check if we need it in CAS3 & CAS4 of the FULL_DOMAIN tutorial case. I will keep you posted of any information concerning this alignment issue.
