problem of time scheme

Post by Yuan Huang »

Hi, everyone

Recently, I use LES to calculate the gas combustion. But the time scheme is second order for LES and first order for specific physics modules.

       how to handle this?

    Thanks very much!

Hi Yuan,
You can make a this kind of simulation but you will have bad results. The combustion models used aren't suitable for LES computation.

Thanks!

I change the time scheme of LES from second order to first order in SRC(or there would be an error) and the simulation can be made, the results partly coincide to the experimental results.

Is there a way to make the combustion models be suitable for LES computation?

Hi,
The fact is that you shouldn't have very high dilatation effects in your simulation that's why you have partly correct results. Let me know if i'm wrong. So if you want to improve the combustion models, you need to take a look to the literature. In Code_Saturne, you can do anything you want but i think it will be very a big job.
