Coal combustion help

Post by Pawel Kasimir »

Hi I'm trying to model a combustion in tangentially fired pulverized boiler, but I've got a problem. There must be something wrong with results, because of unnatural deacreasing of temperature in furnace. After 2000 interations the temperature stabilizing at about 300-600 and do not change. I'm using steady state , k-e model, and pulverized coal module, without radiation heat transfer, upwind scheme. The dimensions of the furnace: 7x7x20m and number of cells is 300000. Have a look into my files, please. Pawel Kasimir

Hi,

I dont know about the error on your second post, but I have checked your listing from the first post and it seems that there is something wrong about the mass flux inlet to the boiler (> 1.E8 kg/s). Could you check the mass flux for coal and air at the inlets of the boiler?

As I am not using the GUI I dont know where you should input these values, however in uscpcl subroutine you have to fill the values in QIMPCP for coal mass flux and QIMPAT for air mass flux.

Let me know if this helps

Sandro
