meshing criteria

Post by hiba »

Hello everyone,

I am trying to launch a CFD study in code_saturne with a mesh from Salome, but I get the bad cells warning each time, the last meshing file that gives the least amount of bad cells is attached, but still it cannot run the calculation correctly. I want to know where does this meshing problem come from and how to solve it?

Please find attached two meshing files (original and modified), as well as the runsolver.log for the modified version.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Kindly.

Hello,

The issue here does not seem to be the mesh quality, but the fact that you have overlapping zone definitions.

Please check your boundary zone selection criteria definitions.

Hello,

As Yvan mentioned in the previous post, it seems to be a problem with overlapping boundary zones.

Anyways, the quality criteria of the "tablierbeton1.med" tetrahedral mesh is not good and you should improve it. The Mesh_5 is a better quality mesh, but you have to fix some issues in the trailing and leading edges of the object.

Thank you for your reply,

Indeed I am trying to achieve something similar to image10 (see attachement), and so far I can get the mesh you can see on image20 using netgen2d-1d, are there any tutorials or posts that treat similar problems? Also, what is exactly the difference between meshing my 2D geometry->extrude and meshing the 3D geometry directly?

Kind regards.

Hello,

This type of mesh can be done with Salome using the Viscous Layer Hypothesis.

Here you have a link to examples and docs.
