SALOME_CFD

Post by drypatrick »

Good morning,

On Code-Saturne's website and in this forum, I've read about SALOME_CFD, and it's advised that it should be available to download from Salome Platform website, but I can't find it anywhere, and the Salome-Platform's support, has no idea about what Salome_CFD is. Anyone has any idea on where I can download it?

Hello,

Yes, this should be available soon (hopefully withing a few weeks), but the download area is not setup yet.

When it is ready, we will put links on this site.

Best regards,

Hello.

Salome 8.5 has been launched, does it include Salome_CFD or will it be a specific version ? Thanks.

Hello,

No, it is a separate build (with some additional tools, such as OpenTURNS, and ParaView Catalyst). Here ia the page with the (very recent) links to the currently available builds:

http://www.salome-platform.org/contribu ... y_of_combs

The second link uses SALOME 8.5. The "universal" build is unfortunately not so universal. It is build on a Debian 8 base, so should work fine on such a system. We have reports it mostly works on Ubuntu 16.04, except for parallel computing. It may or may not work so well on other systems, and any feedback is welcome. Let's hope it works on your system.

For additional info, we should have an Ubuntu 16.04 virtual machine for additional builds soon. There are no current plans for Red Hat/Centos, OpenSUSE, or most other distributions, but we may be posting links to a build script system which could be adapted to those machines (I'd like to understand that system a bit better first).

Best regards,

Yvan
