Coupling Code_Saturne 6.2 & Code Aster 14.6 or Salome Meca 2019

Post by Sameer »

I want to export Pressure & Velocity Outputs to Codeaster to study displacement & stress.

Can i Couple Both CodeSaturn & Codeaster/salome meca 2019 in Ubuntu 18.04 or how above can be done.

Hello,

Coupling with salome_meca used to work up until salome_meca 2017, maybe 2018, but is broken in salome_meca 2019, and needs to be re-written (the update is mostly ready on the code_saturne side, but requires a bit of development (or maybe simply an advanced user) on the code_aster side.

But if you do not need a dynamic, time-varying coupling but simply need to study the effects of stresses on the solid side, you can simply export the pressure or stresses boundary fields in the MED format, and use that as input for code_aster.

To avoid issues with incompatible MED versions, you can install code_saturne using the hdf5 and MED libraries from your salome_meca installation.

Thanks for your detail reply.

Ok, I will test what you have suggested.

I will test with SalomeMeca 2019 and Individually with Codeaster 14.6 & 15.2.

Hello Yvan,

I am having confusion on exporting the codesaturne output format .med to code_aster.

How to Import external result file in .med to code-aster, it cannot be done as mesh file.
I am unable to find commandline with codeaster to import external .med result file.

A small hint can put me to next step.

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

I do not know code_aster usage well enough to import the MED file in code_aster. I only know that this has been done in some studies in the past.

So once you have exported surface stresses in MED format from code_saturne, the code_aster forums may be a good place to find the answer to that second part of the question.

Ok Got it.

Still Unable to read the Result of Code Saturne Fluid_Domain.med into Code-Aster.

I Install Code Saturne with Path Files of CodeAster 14.6.

Unable to attach message output from CA14.6

Hello,

Are you able to visualize the MED output from code_saturne under salome_meca (PARAVIS module) to check they were exported correctly ?

I can open both boundary.med and fluid.med in paraview. Can see all results. I am using sm2019 to visualise codesaturn output files.

Hello,

Ok so that part seems good.

For the code_aster part, I do not think many people who are regularly on this forum can help much, so you will probably have more luck on the code_aster forums. Do not forget to mention that the MED file seems OK.

One last suggestion here would be to also check if you can apply a "cell data to point data" filter in PARAVIS for the boundary MED output, and save that to a MED, to see if code_aster prefers to work with P1 fields instead of P0 using basic options.

Okay it id done. CA14.6 is reading CS6.2 output.

Code Aster Reads Cell Data & not point data.
