Including CFD Study in Salome with finished Installations

Post by rwthler »

Hi!
I want to learn open Source CFD Software (yet only used Company intern softwares in engine developement, where I was not in touch with installtaion issues) and therefore installed
Salome 7.3.0 with the installatin wizard for Ubuntu on a Mint16 System
Saturne 3.1.0from the Linux Mint Software Installer

Is there any way to include the CFD Study tool in Salome, when the installations are done already?

I was reading severel topics here about Salome/Saturne, but all seemed to concern new installations with automatic including of Saturne in Salome, or am I missing something completely?

I think I have a wrong undestanding of the workaround and therefore not to see where and how to start.

Thanks for any answer, also just a push to the right topic to read.

Hello,

Installation of CFDStudy requires compilation of a few wrapper functions, so this is not possible.
In the future, we might move to a "sub-configure" mode method allowing only a part of the rebuild to be necessary, but this is not the case yet.

So to use CFDStudy, you will need to recompile Code_Saturne, using the --with-salome configure option.

The advantages is you'll get the bugfixes from 3.1.0 to 3.1.3... :)

Best regards,

Yvan
