Details for k-w SST model and pseud-steady theory

Post by Tsubasa »

Hello,

Now I am writing a paper and I am lookng for the detailed numerical discription of k-w SST and pseud-steady simulation.

As fas as I know in the past post, there is no discription about k-w SST in theory guide, right?
But maybe it is similar to k-epsilon model, so I can check it in other papers.

For pseud-steady, actually I have never heard this kind of time step method so far.
Is there some infomation in theory guide for this?

Best regards,
Hamad

Hello,

Details on the k-w SST should be available in the literature.

As for the pseudo-steady method, it is basically an unsteady method with a time step local to each cell, to target a CFL value near 1. This provides faster convergence, but the results cannot be interpreted relative to a unique time value, so only the steady state reached (or average in case of fluctuations) may be interpreted. This is why we call it pseudo-steady.

I am not sure there are many more details in the documentation...

Best regards,

Yvan
