Different turbulence models

Post by s marco »

Hi,
I am using code saturne 6. Where can I find the exact difference between
  • k-e linear production
  • k-e
and
  • no wall function
  • 1-scale model
  • scalable 2-scale model
in advanced option.

Best regards,
Marco

Hello,

Some elements may be in the theory manual, though there may be missing updates.

The k-epsilon model should be the "standard" variant of the model (though there might still be variations between codes in implementation details, boundary conditions types, ...).

The linear production model is described in: Guimet, V. & Laurence, Dominique. (2002). A linearised turbulent production in the k-ε model for engineering applications. 157-166. 10.1016/B978-008044114-6/50014-4.

No wall function means you directly apply the boundary conditions, so only required the regular boundary condition theory description.

Best regards,

Yvan
