I wonder if this is not related to a very recently discovered (but old) bug, whose patch is here: https://github.com/code-saturne/code_sa ... 15c743bb09.
You can try to apply the same modification manually to your sources and reinstall (or for initial testing, adding the modified file to your SRC folder). If your pull the 5.0 branch (the one you are using I beleive) for GitHub, I think the patch has been merged.
This could explain some of the issues you observe, so I recommend checking this first.
