Hello Everyone,
I am running a steady state RANS simulation of Rayleigh Benard natural convection where I would like to compare temperature variance across the domain with DNS data. I wanted to know is there any way to extract RMS temperature or temperature variance (\vec{t^2}) as extracting the RESULTS.case does not let you access it directly.
Thanks in advance.

Re: RMS temperature / Variance calculation
Hello,
In the GUI, you can add the variance of species. The term "species" is not well chose, because you can also use it for the temperature.
You can also use the "time moments" postprocessing option to compute the time-averaged temperature and its variance. Compared to the RESULTS.case, this allows computing values based on all time steps, starting with a time step of your choice (so you can reach a mostly steady state before starting to comute statistics for example).

Yvan
