steady/unsteady flow algorithm

Post by chopboy »

Hi,
I seem to have a problem with my recent installation of Salome cfd - Salome 8.5 code_Saturne 5.3. I don't have the Steady/Unsteady flow algorithm selection box under the Thermophysical Models - Calculation Features Tab.
I have attached a screenshot of my Calculation Features Tab for reference.

Can anyone advise if this is a bug with the 5.3 GUI, or is this something unique to my installation?
As a work-around. Is there a current guide for the code_Saturne xml file such that I can change flow algorithm there?

Cheers!

Hello,

This is not a bug. To improve the logic of options grouping (and make them more consistent with the internal workings of the code), the "steady/unsteady" option has been moved to the time step managment page.

Best regards,

Thanks Yvan for clarifying,
Forgive my ignorance, but could you step me through changing a solution from steady state to un-steady? I cannot locate the option box in the time settings of the GUI.

Hello,

The option is the "time step option" combobox; which allows for constant or time-varying time steps, or space & time varying (pseudo-steady) or steady.
