mesh for the turbomachinery

Hello Everyone,
I 'm now using the turbomachery module for a wind a turbine and I have a small question about the mesh.
The mesh of the rotor and stator should be have a gap ? Or their edges are overlap? For the wind turbine, in steady mode, the rotor and the stator(air) should be connect with each other.
