Time step in coupling Neptune/Syrthes

Hello,
I am running a coupling calculation between Neptune and Syrthes and I need to have a time varying time step in Neptune so I tried the automatic time step of Syrthes but I have no idea what to put in the maximum temperature variation while I can't know how much the temperature of the solid will increase or decrease?
Does anyone have any idea about this ?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
