Exhaust pipe "back" pressure analysis

Post by TMK »

Hello all,

I am completely new to CFD so I need help concerning Code_Saturne. So my task is to calculate back pressure (inlet pressure) of a simple exhaust pipe. I think I should assume that my flow is compressible turbulent air flow (inlet velocity 75m/s and 300 degC, k-e-turbulece) inside a pipe with adiabatic walls. My problem is that I do not understand how to take into account the air density dependency from pressure. With my assumptions temperature does not change so much that it would affect density. Also is this solvable as a steady state problem or should I calculate it as a unsteady flow?

I did not find any example with pressure dependant density? Is there something I am missing? If anyone could help, I would appreciate.

Br,
