Re: Different results from stationary and rotating frame
Hello Benoît and Yvan, Thank you very much for your help! I tried using the frozen-rotor turbomachinery model in this closed rotor-stator case. The result looks reasonable, which is good. But one thing I noticed is, I can't restart. Both in RANS and LES, when I run several timesteps and then restart...

Re: Different results from stationary and rotating frame
Hello Yvan, Thank you for your reply! Yes, I checked the subroutine for rotating boundary conditions. I set different walls, either to rotate in a Sta. frame or to rotate reversely in a Rot. frame. I think the problem is not from boundary condition settings. For LES, I'm also confused. As shown in t...

Different results from stationary and rotating frame
Dear developers, I am running v7.1.0-patch for a basic test case of a closed rotor-stator cavity. The schematic of my model is shown below. But I found the result depends on whether I run in a stationary or a rotating frame, which is not what we expected. In Sta. frame, the results are always correc...

Hello Yvan,
Thank you very much for letting me know. I will stick with CPU at this moment.
Best regards,
Ruonan

Run Code_Saturne on GPU
Dear developers, Could you please help me with this question? Currently my CPU resources are limited but I have some GPUs available. So I'd like to know if I can take advantage of GPU. I can see some posts saying that it may not be a good idea to use GPU, but it's a few years ago. Do you have any ex...

Re: Cannot find time-averaged data at monitoring points
Hello Yvan,
Thank you very much for letting me know. I tried the v7.1 branch on Github, it works well.
Many thanks,
Ruonan

Cannot find time-averaged data at monitoring points
Dear Yvan, Could you please help me with this issue? I use version 7.1. I want to monitor some time-averaged variables, it's quite useful for checking convergence. I added the time-averaged variables in GUI/Postprocessing/Time averages, and ticked the boxes in GUI/Postprocessing/Volume solution cont...

Re: Error run LES when restart from RANS
Hello Yvan,
Thank you very much for your reply!
The problem you mentioned is very important, but I'm not very good at turbulence modelling. I will talk with my supervisors to see if they have any comments on this.
Best regards,
Ruonan

Re: Error run LES when restart from RANS
Hello Yvan, Thank you very much! It will be my pleasure to remind you then. I've been using k-omega SST before. It was good but when I run in a rotating reference frame (add the Coriolis source term in), I found the result was wrong. I assume it needs some revision, a possible example is shown in th...

Re: Restart error-Invalid (not a number) values detected for a field
Hello Yvan, Thank you for your code! Besides this, I found an easier way to solve this problem, which is your suggested "Standard I/O serial" method. Before I mistakenly thought this method would not work, because I only changed this setting in the current case, not in the case that I want...
