Re: How to choose hardware for electric arcs simulation in C

Thank you for your answer, Yvan! As far as I understand, the processor clock rate doesn't have a big impact to the computation speed, right? If I choose among different Intel Xeons should I take more cores or a higher processor clock rate? Could you please advise something for the RAM and the mother...

How to choose hardware for electric arcs simulation in CS 5

Hello everyone, I am about to get a new computer for simulation of electric arcs in Code_Saturne 5 on Windows 7 and on a virtual machine with Lubuntu. The meshes size in my models is about 200 000 to 1 000 000 cells. Usually I do about 10 000 to 30 000 time steps with output frequency about 50 to 20...

Re: Zero gradient at certain faces

Hello, Yvan.

Please, find my case by the following link:
https://drive.google.com/open?id=0BzeG5 ... 1o1dWZkalE

I am not sure if it is small, but it is the smallest what I have.

Best regards,
Rodion

Re: Calculation starts only in single processor mode

Thank you for your answers, Andrew and Yvan.

Yes, I just have remembered that I installed Code_Saturne by the command
sudo ../code_saturne-5.0.4/install_saturne.py
I have reinstalled Code_Saturne without sudo and it works perfectly.
Thank you for your help.

Best regards,
Rodion

Re: Zero gradient at certain faces

Thank you for your answer, I have checked the version 5.0.4 of Code_Saturne. As far as I realize it is the revision 10531. Which is more recent than 10448, if I got it right. I have tried to make coupling of vector potential, but I still get the following error: SIGSEGV signal (forbidden memory area...

Re: Zero gradient at certain faces

Thank you for your answer, Yvan. Do you know if it is planned to develop coupling of vector fields? Or maybe it is possible to replace vector field of vector potential with three scalar fields of vector potential components? I need to have both electrodes and fluid at the same domain to estimate mag...

Re: Calculation starts only in single processor mode

Thank you for you answer, Yvan. I start CS with sudo because without sudo any attempt to start calculation gives me the following error message: Traceback (most recent call last): File "/home/rodion/Code_Saturne/5.0.3/code_saturne-5.0.3/arch/Linux_x86_64/bin/code_saturne", line 76, in retc...

Re: Zero gradient at certain faces

Thank you for your answer, Yvan. It means that I cannot use this coupling for electric arcs simulation? Or maybe I can couple components of vector potential separately? I think that in my case real electric potential is derived from vector potential and I don't need imaginary potential. Is it correc...

Re: Calculation starts only in single processor mode

Thank you for your answer, Yvan. I have reinstalled Code_Saturne after installation of OpenMPI. In GUI the option "Number of processes" appeared, but when I start CS with "sudo ./SaturneGUI" and choose 2 processes, for example, CS gives me the following error message: -----------...
