Re: Convergence troubles with large domains

Hello, Regarding the orthogonality, your geometry outlets are orthogonal to the flow, but your mesh is not, in the sense that some of the faces of the tetrahedra are not orthogonal or aligned with the geometry. Did you visualize the Code_Saturne quality criteria in mesh checking or mesh quality mode...

Re: Periodic Boundary Conditions and CGNS

Hello, Did you run on a different number of MPI ranks than the previous run ? A bug might appear in one case and not the other. I am not sure what the crash is due to, though I recall encountering something similar recently, which I believe/hope is due to some operator not handling unordered element...

Re: Enthalpy initialisation with code_saturne 3.2

Hello,

In any case, they will need to provide details to fix the issue for 3.2. Or better, wait a few days for a first 4.0 beta and test directly on that version...

Re: computation crash with polyhedra mesh

Hello, Did you visualize the mesh quality criteria (without any reorientation) ? You should not need to reorient Star-CCM+ meshes (at least, I do note remember having seen a case where such a mesh was badly oriented). Also, do you have a "debug" install of the code ? (see installation manu...

Re: computation crash with polyhedra mesh

Hello, If you have any error_* files, they are more interesting than the global error file. Do you have any message about incorrect boundary faces in the "listing" ? You mesh has isolated faces, so I assume some face boundary condition issues are due to this. What tool was the mesh built w...

Re: Troubles with Pulverized coal and slagging TUTORIAL

Hello These options appear in "Particles and droplets tracking/Statistics/Boundaries" under the GUI. I agree this is not a good place, as having them appear in the general "Calculation Control/Output control" would be more logical, but this improvement will probably have to wait ...

Re: Convergence troubles with large domains

Hello, 1) and 2 may be related (in the sense that 1) increases the chances of 2) happening). Is your mesh orthogonal at the outlets ? If not, extruding it for a few additional layers may help. In other cases, if "non-physical" (ie. unrealistically large) vortices start appearing a bit earl...

Re: Enthalpy initialisation with code_saturne 3.2

Hello,

If you dont' post at least your user subroutines and xml file, it will be hard to check what is wrong.

Re: Periodic Boundary Conditions and CGNS

Hello, I was not aware that ICEM exported HDF5-based CGNS files with an HDF5 extension instead of CGNS (but then again, ICEM have done strange things in the past, such as cheating on the CGNS version number)... The .hdf5 extension is also used by other formats (such as the Salome Platform's study fi...

Re: Periodic Boundary Conditions and CGNS

Hello, I recommend exoporting the file as an unstructured file: though the reader may handle both, unstructured is more natural, and can handle boundary conditions at faces, not nodes, which requires less conversion steps. For the crash, using periodicity incurs a mesh joining step, which is where t...
