Noisy pressure distribution

Hello all, I am trying to use the SSG RSM to simulate flow in a rod bundle geometry where the pins distort . The mesh in this domain contains tetrahedrals. I have managed to obtain a converged solution but when visualising the pressure field, it looks rather noisy (please see attached picture). This...

Re: Code_Saturne4.0.8 results cannot be read or restarted

Hi Yvan, Thank you for replying. The issue appears to have been linked to the method I used to install code_saturne. Initially I was installing code_saturne with the automatic installer. The installation appeared to progress correctly. But results generated by that installation, could not be read in...

Code_Saturne4.0.8 results cannot be read or restarted

Hi all, I have recently reinstalled Code_Saturne 4.0.8 with PT_Scotch support(6.0.4). When I ran a simulation with a mesh density of 22 million the results produced by the installation could not be read. Trying to restart the calculation i get the following error. SIGSEGV signal (forbidden memory ar...

Code saturne performance on HPC

Hi, I wanted to ask about he performance of Code saturne in parallel. On my local HPC cluster it appears as I increase my mesh density and the number of processors used (trying to maintain a cell/processor ratio of approximately 90000), the time for each iteration drastically increases. With a mesh ...

Re: reduce number of cells being flagged as offset

many thanks for your help. One more quick question if you don't mind. Is there any particular reason why CS 4.0.6 is returning a different percentage for the offset criterion?

Regards,

Kenneth

Re: reduce number of cells being flagged as offset

Thank you for the reply, the answer to your first question is yes, it appears the internal mesh is fully tetrahedral. I performed the check by creating the group of all tetrahedral elements inside the mesh. Refining the tetramesh inadvertently refines hexahedral mesh and thus does not seem to improv...

reduce number of cells being flagged as offset

Hi, In my mesh I have an appreciable number of cells which are being flagged as offset. Visualising the check mesh result it appears the reason is due to the pyramid cells which act as a transition between the hexahedral near wall mesh to the fully tetrahedral internal domain. I wanted to ask for so...
