Hexa dominant mesh

Hello, I write in this Discussion forum in order to know if any was able to create hexa dominan meshes like that obtained with snappyhexmesh. This kind of meshes are very well suited for finite volume method, getting better convergence, lower diffusion between other benefits. I was doing some resear...

Re: Retaining mesh groups from cgns file with cs_preprocess

Hello Oscar, If I'm not misunderstanding your question you can retain the boundaries group through the the GUI of CS. You have to go to the "Mesh" tab In the "Calculation Control" -> "Output Control" section and there you can use the same selection criteria that you use...

Re: Retaining mesh groups from cgns file with cs_preprocess

Hello Oscar,

CS by default create the boundary domain with all boundary faces, but you can use the same selection criterion that you use for the BC to write specifics boundaries zones. This is done in the writer of the output control by adding new zones.

I hope that this help you.

Hello,

Could you post the case and mesh files in order to check It?

Re: Frozen field Lagrangian particle simulation

Hello,

Yes, you are right. Would be useful that the frozen field at the restart appear selected after Frozen carrier flow were selected. Maybe the developers has its reasons for doing in that way.

Re: Frozen field Lagrangian particle simulation

Hello, Frozen carrier flow is setted with the variable IILAGR=3, and the doxygen documentation mention "when IILAGR= 3 Lagrangian two-phase flow on frozen continuous phase. This option can only be used in case of a calculation restart. All the Eulerian fields are frozen (including the scalar fi...

Re: Fourier number + problem velocity results

Hello Claude, What do you refer with "the junction is bad"? Are you doing the face joining in salome (build compound->merge coincident nodes and elements) or in CS (Face joining)?? I don't know how is your geometry, but you can use projection 1D2D in Salome in order to have the same mesh a...

Re: Fourier number + problem velocity results

Hello,

Did you try to reduce the Courant Number to get a Co~1..5?.
Looking at the figure that you posted, I think that you can do a structured mesh using 3D extrusion, doing a mesh for the diffuser, a mesh for the room and then gluing at the interface.

Hello,

I attach a screenshot about where you can set the output frequency.
