Re: Newmark-HHT algorithm in Code_Saturne

Hello, I don't known what kind of FSI problem are you solving. The time integration is implemented like in the paper "Improved Numerical Dissipation for Time Integration Algorithms in Structural Dynamics, Hilber, H.M, Hughes,T.J.R and Talor, R.L." . The change in the parameters will modify...

Re: Newmark-HHT algorithm in Code_Saturne

Hello,

To what specific set of values do you refer? alpnmk, betnmk, gamnmk?

Regards,

Luciano

Re: Newmark-HHT algorithm in Code_Saturne

The parameter alpnmk is initialized in iniini.f90 and the paremeters betnmk and gamnmk a defined in modini.f90. I think that you can copy the newmrk.f90 or strdep.f90 to the SRC directory and change the values. I don't known if the values of the alpnmk, betnmk, gamnmk can be accessed from another us...

Re: Newmark-HHT algorithm in Code_Saturne

Hello,

I don't understand very well your question, but did you check the file newmrk.f90. In this subroutine are computed the accelerations, velocities and displacements of the structure.

Luciano

Re: Boundary condition definition error

Hello Roberto, This error appears when some boundary face doesn't have a boundary condition imposed. You can try to select all the boundary faces that weren't selected. To do this, add a new boundary condition in the "definition of boundary region" and in the selection criteria will be app...

Re: subroutine problem

Hello, Did you check the documentation for coding of non-standard boundary conditions in the user guide? In your setup you start from the position #16 of the face list. Why ? do ilelt = 16, nlelt and when you set the temperature at the face you set the #16 also... rcodcl(ifac, isca(iscalt), 16 ) = 20...

Re: Meshing warning

Hello, I attach an example of the flow past an sphere. I use the geometry that you shared and I have created a new mesh. This case with a coarse mesh (aprox 115.000 cellls) took arround 13 min in a laptop to solve 500 time steps with Courant max around 7. I added the listing file in the zip. I hope ...

Re: Meshing warning

Hello, I use you mesh and the case run without diverging. The mesh is very coarse and the check quality criteria report some issues. I think that you have to reduce the time step in order to get a Courant ~ 5 or lower. You can read some guidelines at https://www.code-saturne.org/cms/documentation/BP...

Re: Wind tunnel modelling, BCs and convergence issues

Hello,

Looking at you mesh, I think that you should try with a finner mesh, because in the outer annulus you only have 2 cell in the radial direction. Also, you can to try to created a mesh of hexa, this will help to reduce the residual and the convergence.

Re: Comparing smooth and rough walls

Hello,

In paraview you can apply the "Temporal Statistics" filter. it will compute the average, the max and min values or use the time averages in Code_Saturne as Yvan mention.
