Re: "nfaced" with periodic boundaries

Hello, You are right, I did not have enough memory. I made 49GB available and no longer obtain the ECS error mentioned in my previous post, however, I now get the following error: Memory allocation summary ------------------------- Theoretical current allocated memory: 11866038 kB Theoretical maximu...

Re: "nfaced" with periodic boundaries

Hello Yvan, Thank you so much for your reply. I've installed the code with Metis-5.0.2. I followed your instructions and the new logged "configure" command is now the following: r01ken0/Code_Saturne/v2.0.5/installer/ecs-2.0.2/configure --prefix=/users/r01ken0/Code_Saturne/v2.0.5/cs-2.0 --with-bft=/u...

Re: "nfaced" with periodic boundaries

Hello Yvan, Whilst I installed the third party libraries manually, I used the installer and the setup file to install Code_Saturne. As a result, I didn't add specific options when configuring/compiling the preprocessor. Forgive the basic question, but how would I go about adding the "--enable-long-i...

Re: "nfaced" with periodic boundaries

Hello, Thank you both for your help. I must apologise as I really should've taken a closer look at the original mesh. The calculation did run, but I couldn't understand why I had non-conforming faces. The problem has been solved by fixing the original mesh  I'm also having an issue of a differ...

Re: "nfaced" with periodic boundaries

Hello Brian, With regards to the boundary conditions, I apply a pressure drop to drive the flow and I've never had a problem with this method in the past. I'm not sure what the issue is this time, but the tria3 and nfaces values don't appear without periodicity. I can't find a joining.case file, but...

Re: "nfaced" with periodic boundaries

Hello Brian, Thank you for your reply. The output files are rather large, so I'm not sure I can send them through this forum. Essentially, in the output text files for the volume, I have a list of values for hexa8, until approx. the last 4000 values, which are preceded by the word "nfaced". I checke...

"nfaced" with periodic boundaries

Hello, I'm using C_S version 2.0.5 and, whilst I've never had problems with periodic boundary conditions in the past, in my latest run on a basic annular configuration I obtained "nfaced" values in the output files. There is no mention of the "nfaced" cells in the pre-processing stage when I check t...

Output files precision

Hello, I apologise for the rather basic question, but I'm using version 2.0.5 and I would like to know if there is a way to obtain the output text files in double precision format? I'm running LES calculations and I've been having some trouble with the energy spectra displaying a tail at the higher ...

Restart v2.0.5

Hello, I'm using version 2.0.5 and I have a doubt on the use of RESTART files. I'm sorry for the basic nature of my question, but I haven't been able to find an explicit answer in previous posts. I read in a tutorial for version 2.0.0 that to perform a restart, the RESTART directory should be copied...

Calculation of temporal means following RESTART

Hello, I'm using version 2.0 and I have a very basic question regarding the calculation of moments following a restart from a calculation in which moments were already being calculated. My understanding is that, assuming I do not set IMOOLD = -1, the restart calculation would continue to add to the ...
