Re: Airfoil simulations - A little contribution for meshing
Dear César Hope you are still watching the site. I'm porting your code to Python - intending to use it for a demonstration of a new optimization technique. Of course you will get a mention in any publication. Hope this is acceptable. One question. In your function ypar(), you use a statement while ...

Re: Pulverized coal and slagging TUTORIAL
Try right-clicking on the link and selecting something like "save destiny as" or "save direction as" in the contextual menu. I don't use Chrome but that kind of option is almost universal to every browser. Yvan, In clicking on the link in your response and also on the new link in...

Re: Different Results between ke LP and kw SST
Luc, for what I remember a mesh that works with K-e will work with K-w SST, but the opposite is not guaranteed. K-e asumes a boundary layer model, so your Y+ should be well above 1; there's a post regarding reccomended values I think for various models (if I recall properly Y+ should be greater than...

Re: Stationary vs. non-stationary NS equations in Code_Satur
Marie, Although I have not deeped into Code_Saturne's source code and theory, one of the risks of using a stationary model in some CFD codes is that it will try to find a stationary solution, so three possibilities arise (asuming the mesh and initial data is of good quality): 1) A stationary solutio...

Re: Training program
Yvan, I would like to ask you related to this topic: would EDF (or the C_S team) provide training, both basic and advanced, on C_S and Syrthes for companies outside France? So far there's a remote possibility that my company would need it but I would like to know this, in case I'm asked for informat...

Re: Inlet conditions for LES - Mapping method
Mmm... maybe I'm not understanding something well, but how do you know that, being both sections different, the velocity profiles should be the same? Because even if the areas of the inlet and the oulet are equal and even if you attain a fully developed flow, a different section shape (i.e. differen...

Contribution: Arch Linux PKGBUILD for Code_Saturne
Hello to everyone: As I am using Arch Linux X86_64 on my own PC, I noticed there was no package for Code_Saturne, the MED package was outdated and so were Salome packages. For those unfamiliar with Arch, it has a ports-like system similar to BSD or Gentoo's ebuilds, which in Arch are called Pkgbuild...

Re: CFL number
It's the same as the Courant number, roughly it means how many cells a particle will go by in one timestep. It is reccomended that CFL<=1 to avoid divergence, but I think CS admits locally a value up to 20. So I suppose you're on a safe road.
