Dear developers,
Hello. I would like to do LES on a turbomachinery cascade, demonstrated in the figure below. There will be two domains: the front one is a stationary domain (including the stationary vane), the rear one is a rotating domain (including a rotating blade). For the rotating domain, I ...

Save data on a 2D slice rather than the whole domain
Dear experts,
Hello. I'm using version 7.0, trying to use LES data on a 2D slice to do Proper Orthogonal Decomposition. But since I need data of many timesteps, the disc space requirement is huge. So I want to save results only on one slice, rather than save results in the whole domain. Could you ...

Monitor the integration of a boundary variable
Dear Code_Saturne experts,
Hello. In the calculation, I understand how to monitor the variables at a point in the fluid domain. Now I'm trying to monitor the integration of thermal flux on a boundary wall. Could you please guide me on how to do this?
I really appreciate it if there are any ...

Re: Calculation is stuck but no error reported on a cluster
Hello Yvan,
Thank you very much for your reply!
Today I had a look at this issue with my cluster administrator. He did a "hello world" test before and there was no problem.
I did ldd and copied the results below. I have added "xxx" at three lines related to mpi so you can find them easier. It ...

Re: Calculation is stuck but no error reported on a cluster
Hello Yvan,
Thank you very much for your help. I'm following your suggestions, made some progress, but still haven't fixed this problem.
I changed to a new cluster with AMD EPYC 7452 32-Core Processors. Each node has 64 processors.
I first compiled Code_Saturne using MPICH/3.4.2. The compilation ...

Density in the governing equations
Dear developers,
Could you please help to confirm the form of the momentum equation in Code_Saturne?
\frac{\partial\vec{u}}{\partial t}+\vec{u}\cdot\vec{\nabla}\vec{u}=-\frac{\vec{\nabla}P}{\rho_0}+{\upsilon}\vec{\nabla}^2\vec{u}
or
{\rho_0}\frac{\partial\vec{u}}{\partial t}+{\rho_0}\vec{u ...

Re: Calculation is stuck but no error reported on a cluster
Hello Yvan,
Thanks for your reply! I'm sorry for my unclear post.
Yes, you are right. I was assigned 3 nodes. I set whether to use 1 node or 3 nodes in the run.cfg. The snippet is from using 1 node, which the case can run with no problem. But when I use 3 nodes, the case hung on, and didn't even ...

Calculation is stuck but no error reported on a cluster
Dear developers,
I got an error when running on the cluster. Could you please have a look if you have any ideas/experience?
I'm using version 7.1.0-patch. I have 3 nodes, each node has 20 processors. I set "n_procs:60 n_threads:1", which succeed before. But now, the simulation seems to be stuck ...

Re: Different results from stationary and rotating frame
Hello Yvan,
I tried version 7.1.0-patch, the case can restart without error. I don't know why, but I can use v7.1.0-patch at this moment.
Thank you very much for your great help!
Best regards,
Ruonan

Re: Different results from stationary and rotating frame
Hello Yvan,
Thank you! I tried two versions, v7.0.4 and v7.1.1, but both failed. It seems I do have this restarting error, on both my local laptop and HPC cluster.
Please find the listing files attached below. It will be great if you could have a look.
Many thanks,
Ruonan
